Reasons Why Max Verstappen is a -300 Bahrain GP Favorite
Max Verstappen is the defending Formula One champion who won 19 of the 22 races last season. One of those was the Bahrain GP, in which he dominated from the very start.
He had the pole position in that race and had a lead for most of the time. Verstappen passed the finish line before anyone else, leaving his teammate Sergio Perez behind by 12 seconds.
For some more context, Max Verstappen’s leading time of 1:31.344s today would be:
— Daniel Valente 🏎️ (@F1GuyDan) February 21, 2024
– Faster than any lap he drove in 2023 preseason testing
– 7th fastest lap of all 2023 preseason testing
– 11th in 2023 Bahrain qualifying

A year later, things are slightly different. Verstappen’s got a new car, which he claims is significantly different from the old one. What we’re talking about is RB20, which he was super-impressed with after test drives.
But how will the new car perform in the race? Given that it differs a lot from Red Bulls’ previous car, it can go one of two ways – either it takes Verstappen to an even higher level, or everything ends in a disaster.
So, which will it be?
Bahrain Grand Prix Underdogs That Could Shine on March 2
Verstappen’s been doing great with his new car in the 2024 preseason, but if something goes astray in the race, we could see someone else win the Bahrain GP. If this scenario plays out, who will we see at the top of the podium?
Bookies think it’s his Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez and we can only agree. As was the case throughout the last season, the Mexican driver seems to always be there to fill in for the megastar of the motorsports universe.
Another driver who could do well on March 2 is Lewis Hamilton whose ambition in 2024 is to challenge for the title after four years of waiting.
2024 Bahrain GP Prediction
It’s kind of strange that Max Verstappen’s Bahrain GP odds aren’t even shorter than -300. He’s the best driver on the planet with the best F1 card. So, anything but a dominant win for the Red Bull superstar would be a huge shock.
Pick: Max Verstappen
