Reasons Why 2025 Chinese GP Odds Favor Lando Norris

After a strong finish in the 2024 season, Lando Norris started the new campaign in top gear, winning the highest spot on the podium in Australia. He won the pole position, as well as the fastest lap that weekend.

It wasn’t too big a surprise. Bookies expected him to do well. Sure, they probably didn’t expect him to establish such dominance on the track, but the fact is that he was the top favorite ahead of the first Grand Prix of the 2025 season.

He’s once again seen as the betting favorite and his odds are even shorter than last week. It seems that oddsmakers were impressed by his performance in Australia and now think he will do equally well in China.

This goes especially because he did fine in his first Chinese GP. It happened last year when he finished second. He finished behind Max Verstappen, who, at the time, was in top form. Fast-forward to March 2025, and it’s Norris who’s in the form of his life.

Can Max Verstappen or Oscar Piastri Ruin Norris’ Plans?

In addition to Lando Norris, there are only two other drivers with the 2025 Chinese GP odds shorter than +1000. Those guys are Norris’ McLaren-Mercedes teammate Oscar Piestri and the defending F1 champion, Max Verstappen.

Piestri did well in the qualification last weekend, but his finish in the race wasn’t too great – he finished 9th. But he’s Norris’ teammate, so if the McLaren-Mercedes star fails, it’s Piestri who will have to step up.

When it comes to Verstappen, he’s the man who won the last four seasons. While he hasn’t been as impressive as a couple of years ago, he sure is a hell of a driver with a fantastic car. In the first race of the season, he finished second, but now, his plan is to finish first.

2025 Chinese Grand Prix Prediction

We were impressed by Lando Norris in the first race of the season, which is why we’re backing the Englishman to win again. Sure, Verstappen must not be underestimated, but the momentum is with Norris.
