Our 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix prediction is that the race on April 20 is going to be a battle between McLaren-Mercedes drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. To see why, just keep reading this Formula 1 betting preview

Two McLaren-Mercedes drivers – Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri – are currently occupying the top two spots in the 2025 F1 World Drivers’ Championship.

Piastri, who won two of this season’s four races, is second with just three points fewer than his teammate. The reason why the British driver is sitting at the top of the table is that he finished on the podium each time this campaign.

Our prediction is that he will do it once again. In fact, 2025 Saudi Arabian GP odds suggest he’s going to win the race. Along with his colleague Piastri, he’s the only driver with F1 odds in the form of a three-digit number.

Reasons Why 2025 Saudi Arabian GP Odds Favor McLaren-Mercedes Drivers

Lando Norris the No. 1 favorite to win the race on April 20 with his 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix odds being +125. The reason is that he’s been brilliant throughout the season.

He started the campaign in top gear, winning the Australian GP. Two second-place finishes followed – in China and Japan. Finally, last weekend, he finished third in Bahrain, which is his worst finish of 2025.

Saying that the No. 3 position is a bad result is somewhat strange, especially given that he finished on the podium in only 13 of last season’s 24 races.

His teammate Oscar Piastri’s form has improved even more drastically. Last year, he only had eight podium finishes, while in 2025, he already has three – and two of those were finishes at the top of the podium.

The Australian driver was nothing short of sensational last Sunday in Bahrain, where we saw him win the race, as well as win the pole position and record the fastest lap.

It was the best performance of his entire career, which is kind of surprising given that he didn’t have a great record in Bahrain. The first time he drove there, he had to retire, while last year, he finished eighth.

He’s got much nicer memories from Jeddah, where he finished fourth last season. In fact, Formula One odds suggest that he might win this event, thus breaking Red Bull Racing’s run of three consecutive wins.

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen Loves Racing in Saudi Arabia

Max Verstappen is the defending champion on this track, who won the Saudi Arabian GP twice. His colleague, Sergio Perez won it as well – this happened in 2023, when Verstappen finished second.

The reason why Versappen’s Saudi Arabian GP odds are so long (+1000) is that he hasn’t been doing great since the start of the 2025 campaign. Sure, the Dutchman did win in Japan, but right after that race, he finished sixth in Bahrain.

Verstappen qualified P7 after understeer and brake issues hampered his RB21 car. Race day brought more trouble – pit stop delays from a signal failure, a sticky tire, brake problems, and tire wear.

His team needs to fix the car if they want their boy to do better on April 20. He definitely has the skillset to win this race again, but that won’t matter much if the car issues persist.

2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Prediction

We think Max Verstappen is the best driver on the 2025 F1 roster, but his car is not. The car we think is the best is McLaren’s MCL39, which is used by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. That said, we think one of these two guys will win the 2025 Saudi Arabian GP.

So, who will it be? The spotlight is on Piastri after a brilliant weekend in Bahrain, but we think now it’s time for Norris to shine (again).

Pick: Lando Norris
