When, Where, and How to Watch?
- Place: T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri
- Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025
- Time: 10:00 p.m. ET
- How to Watch: PPV
Anthony Smith Hoping to Rebound After Two Losses
Anthony Smith is a 39-year-old veteran who’s 38-21 overall and who’s been fighting professionally since 2008. His prime was in 2019 when he fought Jon Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight title.
Smith lost that fight, but he showed the world why his nickname is Lionheart. Even though Bones landed almost four times more significant strikes than him, along with three takedowns, Smith survived until the final bell, losing by unanimous decision after 25 minutes.
Since then, he fought many other elites, but he lost most of those fights. He got beaten up by Roman Dolidze and Dominick Reyes in his last two fights, which is probably why UFC Kansas City odds are against him. Another reason for this is that he’s locking horns against an incredible finisher.
Zhang Mingyang With a Chance to Become a UFC Star
Zhang Mingyang is a Chinese fighter with an 18-6 record. He’s an incredible finisher who won each of his 18 wins in the first round. Twelve of those wins happened by knockout/technical knockout, while the other six were by submission.

Most of his wins happened in local MMA promotions in Asia. In the UFC, he’s fought only two times so far, beating Brendson Ribeiro and Ozzy Diaz, each by a first-round KO.
The biggest fight of his career is on the program on April 26. If he beats Anthony Smith, he will get on the UFC radar and possibly get a much tougher opponent to fight next. This goes especially if he gets another finish early on in the fight.
Anthony Smith vs. Zhang Mingyang Prediction
We’re certain the UFC Kansas City co-main event won’t last until the final bell. Instead, the fight will probably see an early finish. But who’s going to go to sleep early? We think Smith will get KO-ed. Sure, he’s got plenty of experience, but his opponent looks unstoppable at the moment.
Pick: Zhang Mingyang by KO/TKO
