Arsenal vs. Chelsea might not be the fiercest of the London Derbies, but in 2025, it’s certainly one of the most exciting features. The thing is that both teams are flying high in the Premier League standings, each hoping to finish the season in the No. 2 spot.
Right now, the Gunners are there, but the Blues could come very close (to just three points) with a win on March 16.

Arsenal Need to Start Winning Again
It’s been a month since Mikel Arteta’s men last won a game in the English Premier League. They’re 0-2-1 in their last three EPL games, which has (probably) cost them the title.
They’re currently trailing by 15 points behind Liverpool, so their dream of becoming the champions for the first time after two decades looks unrealistic.
But they can finish in second place. They’re currently sitting in that position, but Nottingham and Chelsea are dangerously close. They’ll get even closer if the Gunners lose on March 16.
The bad news is that they’re in poor form, the cause of which is their long injury list. An even worse news is that their key forwards – Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Jesus – won’t be coming back anytime soon.
Chelsea Feeling Good About Their Chances on March 16
Chelsea’s 2025 squad is very young, with an average age of just 23.6 – the lowest in the 2025 Premier League. Such a young roster is built for the future, but this doesn’t mean Enzo Maresca’s men don’t care about the current season.
They’re currently fourth in the EPL standings, but they could easily go up two spots in the near future. For that, they just need to keep on playing well.
The trouble is that same as Arsenal, they have some problems with injuries, especially in the final third. Nicolas Jackson is out, along with Noni Madueke, Marc Guiu, and Mykhailo Mudryk.
Arsenal vs. Chelsea Prediction
We think this is going to be a very close game, with just one goal deciding the winner. But who will it be? Our prediction is Chelsea. Not only are the Blues in better form, but they also have a longer bench than Arsenal, meaning that their injury problems shouldn’t affect them too much.
