Author of Damaging Evolution Report Revealed to Be Black Cube

Black Cube compiled the report but another still unknown entity commissioned it

Shortly after the New Jersey Supreme Court denied the motion to block Evolution’s request to reveal who its mysterious accuser was, the law firm Calcagni & Kanefsky (CK) revealed that the company in question was Black Cube, an Israeli intelligence specialist.

The Report Damaged Evolution

In 2021, an anonymous company compiled a highly damaging report into alleged misconduct from Evolution. According to the report, Evolution was guilty of operating in markets considered to be prohibited jurisdictions by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

The latter eventually investigated the matter and couldn’t find any evidence backing these claims. Evolution, which denied the allegations, has since sought to learn the identity of its mysterious accuser.

The accuser, for quite some time, managed to elude Evolution’s unmasking attempts. With the help of law firm Calcagni & Kanefsky, it parried previous efforts to reveal its identity, at least up until recently. Black Cube issued an official response to the latest development in the case:

“With the lifting of legal restrictions, the period in which Evolution ($EVO) was able to misrepresent facts before the court and relevant authorities has come to a close.

Black Cube stands firmly behind the contents of the investigative report and is fully prepared to prove its validity and accuracy in court. The evidence we have exposes widespread misconduct by Evolution, and operations in sanctioned countries and Black Markets. The evidence invalidates Evolution’s attempts to suppress the truth through intimidation and legal maneuvers.

In addition to the original findings, Black Cube has since gathered new and material evidence that directly contradicts Evolution’s claims made before regulators and the judiciary. This evidence will be submitted in court or to relevant regulators in due course.

Beyond Black Cube’s investigation, public domain sources reinforce concerns about Evolution’s (EVO) business practices. These include, among others, Class Action lawsuits filed by investors in Pennsylvania and in New York, and most notably, a recent investigation by the UK Gambling Commission.

Black Cube will not be silenced by attempts to discredit its investigative work. The company remains committed to exposing the truth with concrete evidence and will pursue all necessary legal avenues to ensure that the facts are brought to light.”

Black Cube Compiled the Report for an Unknown Entity

Unfortunately for the accuser, CK failed to convince the NJ Supreme Court to keep the company’s identity hidden. As a result, CK was forced to admit that the company behind the report was Black Cube, a company describing itself as a world leader at “exposing corruption, fraud, bribery, asset dissipation and other white-collar crimes, even when there is no paper trail.”

However, the mystery is not over yet since Black Cube only compiled the report, which was, in reality, commissioned by a separate entity.

As it turns out, Black Cube, which was founded by former Israeli intelligence service officers in 2010, compiled the damaging report for an unknown entity. While CK acknowledged that it knows the identities of the Black Cube employees who were involved with the investigation on which the report was based, it told the Supreme Court that it was unaware of the identity of the original commissioner.

What’s Next?

In the wake of the reveal, Evolution filed a legal motion against CK, accusing it of not abiding with earlier orders to unmask Black Cube. Evolution furthermore did not believe CK’s claims that it was unaware of the identity of the original commissioner of the report since it had worked closely with Black Cube for several years now.

Evolution emphasized that its recent victory would be a Pyrrhic one unless CK reveals the identity of the report’s commissioner too. Because of that, it asked the court to issue a further order to reveal the identity of the entity that prompted the whole ordeal.

Evolution also asked the court to sanction the defendants, insisting that they had been delaying the case on purpose.

In any case, Evolution seems bullish on unmasking everyone involved in the damaging report.
