Bayern Munich Wanna Get Things Done in the Bundesliga

Bayern Munich are somewhat preoccupied with their Champions League campaign, where they’re competing with Inter Milan for a place in the semi-finals. That’s their No. 1 focus right now, but they also mustn’t get complacent in the Bundesliga.

The thing is that, even though they’re at the top of the table, they still haven’t secured the title, with Bayer Leverkusen trailing by just six points. Bayern have a much tougher schedule on their hands than Bayer, so that six-point advantage could vanish easily.

To make things even worse, the team from Munich has some serious problems with injuries. Their captain Manuel Neuer is out with a season-ending injury. Fill-back Alphonso Davies is also out and so are his colleagues from the defensive department, Ito Hiroki and Dayot Upamecano.

Bayern Munich will also miss their best playmaker Jamal Musiala on Saturday, as well as Aleksandar Pavlovic and Kingsley Coman.

Borussia Dortmund Wanna Keep Winning

While Bayern Munich’s players might not be too crazy about this Saturday’s Der Klassiker, the boys from Dortmund seem to be in a great mood.

They too play in the Champions League but considering that their opponent in the quarterfinal is Barcelona, their ambitions for that competition aren’t too high.

Instead, their prime target for this season is a Top 6 finish in the Bundesliga, which would book them a place in one of the European competitions next season. They’re currently in the eighth spot, but a win on April 12 could get them two spots higher.

And if they continue playing well until the end of the season, they could even get themselves a finish among the top four teams.

Such a scenario doesn’t seem too crazy at this point, particularly for the fact that they’re coming to Munich after back-to-back Bundesliga wins, which saw them score a total of seven goals.

We think that Bayern Munich’s players wouldn’t mind winning this by a single goal or even getting a goalless draw as long as the game doesn’t cause any physical issues with their players.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund’s players will probably be way more fired up. They’re coming to Munich to try and get a win. They might not succeed, but given Bayern’s defensive problems, we could see them find the net.

If they do it, Bayern will have no other option but to fight back, which will result in even more goals.
