Brandon Moreno vs. Brandon Royval 2 Odds
Moneyline | Odds |
---|---|
Brandon Moreno | -250 |
Brandon Royval | +210 |
When, Where, and How to Watch?
- Place: Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico
- Date: Saturday, February 24, 2024
- Time: 10:00 p.m. ET
- How to Watch: ESPN+
A Must-Win for Moreno on His Road to the Title
Brandon Moreno is 21-7-1 overall and is a former UFC Flyweight champ, who held the championship belt on two separate occasions. The first time, he lost the title to Deiveson Figueredo; the second time, it happened against Alexandre Pantoja.
If he’s going to get a chance to fight for the title again, he needs to beat Royval at UFC Mexico. The good news for him is that betting odds are in his favor. Bookies seem to think that he’s got the skillset needed to beat this opponent once again.
In addition to that, he will also have the crowd to support him on Saturday. The fight is taking place in his home country of Mexico.
Brandon Royval Hoping for a Miracle
Brandon Royval grew up in a Mexican family, but he’s fighting out of Colorado, so you can be sure that the crowd in Mexico City won’t be rooting for him. This is just one of the disadvantages he has in the matchup with Moreno.
Another, even bigger problem for Royval is that he hasn’t had a full camp to prepare for the UFC Mexico main event. The thing is that Moreno was originally meant to fight Amir Albazi, but the Iraqi fighter withdrew because of an injury. Royval stepped in as his replacement with just a bit over a month to prepare for the fight.
He did, however, fight relatively recently. It was December 16, 2023, when he stepped into the Octagon the last time. Royval fought Pantoja for the title but lost by decision after five rounds of intense fighting.
Brandon Moreno vs. Brandon Royval 2 Prediction
Everything seems to be going in Moreno’s favor ahead of UFC Mexico. He’s fighting on his turf against a guy who didn’t have a full camp. But even if it was the other way around, we’d still think of Moreno as the favorite.
He’s just better than Royval, which he proved the first time they fought. Moreno beat Royval by a TKO and we think the same might happen on February 24.
Pick: Brandon Moreno
