Bryce Mitchell vs. Jean Silva UFC 314 Odds, Time, and Prediction
Bryce Mitchell vs. Jean Silva is one of the most exciting matchups on the UFC 314 fight card. This is a clash between a master wrestler and one of the best strikers in the featherweight division. So, which style will prevail

Despite praising Hitler, Bryce Mitchell did not get expelled by the UFC. Instead, he got a chance to fight again. On April 12, he’ll be stepping inside the Octagon at Kaseya Center in Miami to lock horns with Jean Silva.
Dana White didn’t release Mitchell despite all the controversy; will Jean Silva be the one to end Thug Nasty’s UFC career?

When, Where, and How to Watch?
- Place: Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida

- How to Watch: PPV
Bryce Mitchell’s First Real Challenge Since the Nasty KO in 2023
Dana White clearly believes all publicity is good publicity—why else would Bryce Mitchell still be on the UFC roster? In January, Thug Nasty called Hitler a “good guy,” sparking massive backlash.
Okay, he did all that after suffering one of the nastiest KOs in the history of the UFC. This happened in 2023 when Josh Emmett – who was the underdog – sent him to la la land. It was such a powerful punch that Mitchell ended up convulsing on the floor.
But even before Emmett sent him to another real, Mitchell was no stranger to controversy. He’s called Elon Musk “Satan,” slammed Joe Rogan for mocking flat-earthers, and even claimed gravity isn’t real.
I thought Dana White was going to feed Bryce Mitchell to Josh Emmett again for his Hitler comments 😭 pic.twitter.com/Jm7npLt7kQ

Outside of controversy, Mitchell’s UFC career has been a rollercoaster. Before the KO loss to Emmett, he had some really good performances, in which he showed his wrestling prowess.
He also showed that he can be a good striker if needed in the fight with Kron Gracie. This was his rebound fight which happened last year.
That victory, however, comes with an asterisk. Same as his siblings and ancestors – who actually invented Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Gracie is an elite grappler. However, striking is not his forte.
Actually, saying that he’s not a good striker would be an overstatement. He’s awful when it comes to boxing, which we saw in the fight with Mitchell, in which he landed just six punches.
Mitchell’s next bout will show whether he’s truly back or just benefiting from weak competition. At UFC 314, he’ll be locking horns with a fighter who might be as good at striking as Josh Emmett.
Jean Silva Looking for His 13th Straight Win
Jean Silva is 15-2 overall with both of his losses happening by decision in the early days of his career. Since joining the UFC, he’s got nothing but wins – he’s 4-0 overall.
His strongest weapon is striking as he’s got a background in Muay Thai. The evidence of this is that 12 of his 15 wins happened by KO/TKO.
Another proof of his striking prowess is that he lands 5.26 significant strikes per minute on average – that’s higher than any of Mitchell’s previous UFC opponents, including Ilia Topuria and Edson Barboza.
Being a part of the Fighting Nerds team, he’s a well-rounded fighter with decent grappling and wrestling skills. His takedown defense is 80%, which is another thing that could help him at UFC 314.
Bryce Mitchell vs. Jean Silva Prediction
Our prediction is that Jean Silva is going to demolish Bryce Mitchell with punches and kicks. He’s levels above him in terms of striking, so “Thug Nasty” is in trouble. We think this fight can easily end in a KO. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if Mitchell ended up flat on the floor again.
Pick: Jean Silva by KO/TKO
