After losing to Manchester City last weekend, Chelsea immediately dropped to the No. 6 place in the Premier League standings. If they lose again, they could drop down even further, which is why can be certain they’ll go all-in on Sunday, February 3, against West Ham.

Chelsea Determined to Bounce Back

The Blues are 11-7-5 overall, which accounts for 40 points. That’s the same number of points as Bournemouth and three more than Aston Villa. What this means is that if Chelsea loses to West Ham, they could drop in the standings even more.

With a win on February 3, the Blues could get back to the No. 4 spot. However, for that to happen, they’d need to see Manchester City and Newcastle not win their games over the weekend.

Nevertheless, the season is long, and they have plenty of time to get back into the Champions League zone, which is almost certainly their main goal for this campaign. The good news is that their roster in 2025 looks amazing, with at least two good players for every position on the pitch.

The bad news is that they haven’t done great in the EPL over the last couple of weeks. They’re 1-2-2 in the last five rounds of the Prem.

Are The Hammers in a Crisis?

West Ham are 7-6-10 overall, and with 27 points, they’re currently 14th in the Premier League. They’re still far away from the relegation zone, with 11 points more than Wolves – the team that’s currently third from the bottom.

However, these guys have much higher ambitions for 2025. They wish to challenge for a spot in Europe, but for that, they need to up their game considerably. The Hammers haven’t done much lately, losing three of their last five EPL games.

The reason behind their poor form is that they’ve been struggling with injuries. Unfortunately for their fans, the problems still aren’t over. Their most productive forward Jared Bowen will miss Monday’s game, and so will Niklas Fullkrug, Jean-Clair Todibo, and a few others.

Chelsea vs. West Ham Prediction

We think that Chelsea will win Monday’s game and get back into the chase for a spot in the Top 4. If you compare these two teams player-for-player, you’ll see that the Blues have the advantage.

Plus, Chelsea is playing at home, and at Stamford Bridge, they’re 4-0-0 against West Ham this decade.
