Dabble Onboards Former Tabcorp Executive as CSCO
Brenden Varcoe’s extensive experience in the gambling sector should prove invaluable to Dabble as the company broadens its strategic ambitions

Dabble, a fast-growing social betting platform, has appointed Brenden Varcoe, an experienced executive with extensive experience in the gaming, sports, and entertainment sectors, to the newly created role of chief strategy and commercial officer (CSCO). The appointment signals Dabble’s desire to expand its operations and explore strategic growth opportunities, potentially including a public listing.
Varcoe Will Significantly Bolster Dabble’s Leadership
Varcoe brings over a decade of experience in senior strategy and commercial roles. His nine-year tenure at Tabcorp, one of Australia’s largest gambling companies, saw him rise through the ranks, starting as senior manager of strategic planning in 2016. He then advanced to high-profile leadership roles, including general manager of strategy, while leading significant commercial initiatives and partnerships.
Most recently, Varcoe was general manager of racing industry and venues for Tabcorp, accountable for leading Tabcorp’s retail operations in 4,000 venues comprising pubs, clubs, and sporting arenas. Varcoe announced his departure in a LinkedIn post, expressing excitement regarding his new position. His former colleagues wished him success in his new role.
After 9 years at Tabcorp, working across multiple Senior Leadership roles, I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Chief Strategy & Commercial Officer at Dabble!
Brenden Varcoe, Dabble chief strategy and commercial officer
Before joining Tabcorp, Varcoe had extensive experience in the gambling industry as commercial manager for the Melbourne Racing Club and various roles in the financial sectors for KPMG, PwC, and the Royal Bank of Scotland. This rich professional history should provide him the insight to excel in his new position and help Dabble reach new heights.
The Company Remains Positioned for Further Growth
Dabble has described itself to shareholders as a “promising IPO prospect” and retains a robust presence in Australia and the United States. Varcoe’s appointment comes as Dabble positions itself for its next phase of growth, which may include going public. The company, reportedly, is actively considering an IPO, with possible listings on either the Nasdaq or the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).
Co-founder and executive director Jon Robin said that given its prestige, Nasdaq, a central exchange for technology companies worldwide, might be the more natural fit, but acknowledged the ASX as “very much a live possibility.” Robin also listed several strategic options, including private deals between investors or even selling the business at some point.
Regardless of the path chosen, such ambitions will require a seasoned leadership team, which is where Varcoe comes in. Varcoe’s impressive strategy and commercial operations expertise should prove instrumental as the company positions itself as a formidable player in the competitive gambling industry and expands its commercial operations.
