The Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves series could come to an end on Thursday if the Nuggets win for the fourth time in a row. The Timberwolves hope that won’t happen, putting their hopes in the Target Center power.
This, however, hasn’t worked for them so far in the Eastern Conference semis – the Nuggets beat them in both games played in Minnesota. Will they beat them again?

Denver Nuggets Looking to Cash In on Their Good Form
The Denver Nuggets are the defending champions of the NBA and one of the top favorites to win the 2024 title. It didn’t look like that just a few days ago, though. After losing the first two games of the series with the Timberwolves – both of which were played in Denver – people started questioning their chances of defending the title.
However, the newly-crowned 2024 NBA MVP Nikola Jokic led his teammates to two wins at Target Center in Minnesota, followed by the first home win of the series, which happened on Tuesday evening.
The game in question saw Jokic score 40 points – his highest number since the start of the postseason. It’s also only the fourth time this season that he scored 40 or more. The previous time it happened, he played against the same opponent, suggesting that he holds the blueprint for defeating Minnesota.
Can the Minnesota Timberwolves Stop Jokic & Co.?
If they want to stay in the series, they need to beat the Nuggets at Target Center. The trouble is that they failed to do the last three times.
The last time they beat the Nuggets in Minneapolis was back in November when they did a great defensive job. They stopped Jokic from scoring more than 25 and his teammates from going over 14, which is how many points Jamal Murray scored that night.
They do have great defense with center Rudy Gobert being one of the best defensive players on the planet. However, in the last three games of the 2024 postseason, he just couldn’t find a way to deal with Jokic.
