Detroit Lions Looking Scary
The Detroit Lions are 5-1 overall, which is great, but they could’ve been even better. They started the season slowly with an overtime win over the Rams; then went on to lose to the Buccaneers at home by four points.
However, from Week 3 onwards, they’ve been sensational. They’re on a 4-win run, with their most recent win being their arguably best performance in years. They absolutely demolished the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium in Texas, with the final score being 47:9.

Led by quarterback Jared Goff who went 18-for-25 for 315 yards, 3 touchdowns, and no interceptions, Detroit’s offense looked unstoppable. Goff’s TD passes were caught by three different players, while they also scored two rushing TDs, courtesy of running back David Montgomery.
Detroit’s defense was almost equally brilliant, but that came at a cost. One of the best defensive ends in the league – Aidan Hutchinson – suffered a season-ending injury that afternoon.
Will Minnesota’s Superb Run End in Week 7?
Detroit’s offense tops the league with 30.2 points per game on average. Minnesota’s offensive team is sixth, with 27.8. The thing about the Vikings is that they tend to score just enough to win, without blowing out their opponents. This season, three of their five wins happened by a touchdown or less.
However, this may have something to do with the fact that they’ve played against some really good defenses, including the 49ers, NY Jets, and Packers. Despite facing tough challenges against those opponents, QB Sam Darnold managed to lead the team to at least 23 points in each of those games.
Darnold has been pretty good this season, although he’s thrown two interceptions in the last two games. Despite that, their passing game has been elite in 2024. Their running game too has been amazing, mostly thanks to Aaron Jones. Although he’s scored just one TD so far, he did gain a total of 350 yards for his team in five games.
Jones was struggling with an injury during Minnesota’s bye week, but as per recent reports, he’ll be ready to feature in the Lions vs. Vikings game on Sunday.
Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings Week 7 Prediction
Without Hutchinson on the field, Detroit’s defense is bound to suffer. Their current average is 18.2 points conceded per game, but that number is bound to go up, maybe even in Week 7.
On the bright side for the Lions, their offensive team looks incredible. They’re so creative offensively that we really doubt the Vikings can stop them from scoring at least a couple of TDs on Sunday. If our predictions are correct, that should be enough for a win against their NFC North foes.
Pick: Detroit Lions
