When, Where, and How to Watch?
- Place: KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky

Can Dominick Reyes Make Himself Relevant Again?
Dominick Reyes made his professional MMA debut in 2014 and went on to win 12 fights in a row. During his fantastic run, he defeated such amazing opponents as Jared Cannonier, Ovince Saint Preux, Volkan Oezdemir, and Chris Weidman. Mind you, all of these guys were in their prime when he fought them.
This didn’t go unnoticed by Dana White & Co., which is why Reyes was given a shot at the title. Unfortunately for him, the championship belt was in possession of Jon Jones at the time. The title fight took place at UFC 247 in 2020 and it was a pretty violent affair.

The fight lasted for the full 25 minutes, after which Jones won by decision. However, Reyes did not get embarrassed in that fight. Many believe that he’s the one to give Jones the hardest fight of his career. In fact, many pundits still think that Reyes should’ve won the title that day.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill for Reyes after that loss. He then lost to Jan Blachowicz, followed by losses to Jiri Prochazka and Ryan Spann. In each of those bouts, he lost by KO/TKO.
Reasons Why UFC Kentucky Odds Favor Dustin Jacoby
Dustin Jacoby is favored to win the UFC Louisville co-main event. The main reason, obviously, is that his opponent hasn’t had a win since 2019. However, Jacoby’s recent record isn’t too great either.
After going undefeated in nine fights, he lost three of his last four bouts. However, all three of those losses happened by decision, with one of those being a split decision loss. The only win in this period happened by a first-round knockout against Kennedy Nzechuwu.
This is something that needs to worry Reyes as Jacoby is a real knockout expert. The evidence of this is that 12 of his 19 wins happened by KO/TKO. No surprise there really as he’s famous for being a fantastic kickboxer. Actually, before starting his MMA journey, he had a successful kickboxing career.
Dominick Reyes vs. Dustin Jacoby Prediction
They’re both incredible strikers with amazing leg kicks. In fact, we think they’re on par when it comes to striking. The reason why Jacoby’s UFC Kentucky odds are much shorter than those of Reyes is that the former title challenger lost his three previous fights by a knockout. However, we don’t think the same will happen this time. We think Reyes has learned his lesson and will fight more carefully than before, possibly getting a win by decision.
Pick: Dominick Reyes
