England vs. Ireland UEFA Nations League Odds, Time, and Prediction
England vs. Ireland is one of the most interesting UEFA Nations League games on the program on Sunday, November 17. Betting odds favor England, but maybe it’s time for the Irish to beat their archrivals for the first time since the 80s.

It’s been more than 36 years since the Republic of Ireland last defeated England in any type of soccer game. The win in question happened at the Euros in Germany, while the Irish have zero wins over their foes in games played in England. Is it time for that to change?
They’ll have a chance to do exactly that on Sunday, November 17 at Wembley Stadium, although betting odds are pretty much against them. They’re seen as +1300 underdogs.

England Need to Say Their Fans They’re Sorry for the Greece Loss
The last time England played at Wembley Stadium, the Three Lions lost 2:1 to Greece. It was a shocking loss, but it seems they’ve recuperated since. In the game following the defeat, they beat Finland 3:1 on the road.

Now, they’re coming back home and are eager to apologize to their fans for the Greece loss. The best way to do it is to beat their archrivals, Ireland. It looks like they’re going to take this game really seriously, as evident from the fact that interim coach Lee Carsley picked up a very strong squad for this round of the UEFA Nations League.
Most of England’s best players are on the roster, including captain Harry Kane who missed the game with Greece a month ago. There are a couple of stars who will miss Sunday’s game due to fitness problems, most notably, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, and Declan Rice.
Can Ireland Do the Funniest Thing Ever?
England is competing with Greece for the No. 1 spot in Group 2 of League B of the 2024-25 UEFA Nations League. Meanwhile, Ireland are competing with Finland to avoid relegation to League C. Even if they end up relegated, they probably won’t care too much.
What they’d probably care a lot about is ruining England’s plans to get to the elite group. A way of doing exactly that is beating or at least playing a draw with England on Sunday.

Historically, they’ve always struggled against this opponent, but in 2024, their roster looks pretty good. Most of the players who got the call-up from coach Heimir Hallgrimsson for the England vs. Ireland game are Premier League players.
Sure, there aren’t any superstars on Ireland’s roster, but they do have plenty of exciting players, particularly in the final third. This is why it’s kind of surprising that they haven’t been scoring more goals.
England vs. Ireland Prediction
We think this is going to be a hell of a game, with plenty of excitement on both ends. If you take a look at their rosters, both England and Ireland are very good offensively; they just need to start showing it more. The England vs. Ireland game on Sunday looks like a very good opportunity for that, hence, our betting prediction is “over 2.5.”
Pick: Over 2.5 Goals
