Entain UK Names Industry Heavyweight Charlotte Emery as CMO

Entain has appointed industry heavyweight Charlotte Emery as the new chief marketing officer of its UK business. In this position, she will be responsible for the brand’s marketing amid a transformational period.

As mentioned, Emery is no stranger to the gambling industry, having already spent some four years at the British gambling giant William Hill. She joined the latter company in November 2018, first serving as global marketing director. In September 2020, she was promoted to chief brand officer of the UK gaming powerhouse and served it in this capacity until her exit in January 2023.

As chief brand officer of William Hill, Emery was responsible for transforming the consumer and brand strategy with a ruthless focus on marketing execution and effectiveness. She was also responsible for guiding the company through the pandemic and played a key role in its eventual sale to 888 Holdings.

After that, she spent a year and a half as an independent consultant and coach.

Emery’s earlier experiences include over six years at British American Tobacco, as well as stints with Twinings and Premier Foods. Her earlier experiences include a long tenure at Bacardi Martini and Homepride Foods.

New Beginnings for Emery

Emery announced her new position via a post on LinkedIn, expressing excitement about the opportunity to join Entain UK. As part of the Entain family, she will be able to meet new people and reunite with familiar faces, she said.

Emery praised Entain UK for its “fantastic portfolio of gaming brands” in an industry she is very passionate about.

Entain’s new CMO thanked everyone who has supported her over her year as an independent consultant, especially her friends and family who helped her decide what to do next. During that time, Emery was also able to meet some new people and work on thrilling consultancy projects.  

While the short stint as an independent consultant had been enjoyable, she is now excited to return to what she truly loves.
