FIFA World Cup 2022 Group G Analysis, Picks, and Props

Same as in 2018, Brazil, Serbia, and Switzerland are drawn into the same group. The only newcomer is Cameroon. Unsurprisingly, Brazil is expected to finish top of the group, the same as four years ago. But who’s going to finish second?
In Russia, the Swiss did it. Can they do it again? Oddsmakers think it’s going to close, but what do we think? To find out, just keep on reading our Group G preview.
2022 World Cup Group G Winner Prediction – Brazil (-278)
Brazil went 14-3-0 in the World Cup qualification, with their three ties happening when it was already clear that they were going to secure a spot in Qatar. Their score differential was 40-5 in the qualifiers, showing that this is a force that should be reckoned with. We know this, and so the bookies, who see Brazil as the top favorite to lift the trophy on December 18.
Knowing all this, it would be really strange if these guys didn’t win the group as well. They really should have no problems doing it as the other three teams from Group G just aren’t playing at the same level as them.
Group G Runner-Up Prediction – Serbia (+175)
Bookmakers think the battle for the no.2 spot in Group G will be led between Serbia and Switzerland. Each team is priced at +175 to finish second in the group, meaning that it’s really a coin toss. Still, we do think it’s time for Serbia to advance to the knockouts.
They failed to do it four years ago, but now, their roster looks stronger than before. Plus, the Swiss aren’t as good as they used to be. We think we’ll see Serbia advance, although it’s going to be very close. In fact, we think that the score differential might be the decisive factor in this. So, expect both teams to try and score as many goals as possible against Cameroon.
Best Group G Prop Bet – Cameroon Zero Points (+300)
This tournament isn’t going to go well for Cameroon. These guys just don’t have enough quality to compete with the other three teams for a spot in the knockouts. In fact, we think that Serbia and Switzerland will use Cameroon to up their scoring tally.
That said, we honestly doubt Cameroon can win a single point in Qatar. Oddsmakers seem to agree with us, giving +300 on this team winning zero points at the 2022 World Cup. The only bet with shorter odds is that Cameroon will win one point. Still, we don’t think such a thing is very likely to happen.
