Florida Panthers Coming to Alberta With Shaken Confidence
The Florida Panthers looked set to win their first Stanley Cup in history after going 3-0 in the Finals. But then, the Oilers blew them out 8:1 in Game 4, which was played in Edmonton. The Finals returned to Florida in the following game, the Oilers won again. This time, it was 5:3 for the Alberta-based team.
The Oilers blitzed their way in the first two periods, getting to a 3:0 lead. The Panthers then had no other option but to go all-in on the offense. They did score three goals by the end of the game, but they also conceded two more. The final goal of the game was the work of Edmonton’s Conor McDavid who slotted the puck into the empty net in the closing seconds of the match.
Edmonton Oilers Can’t Wait to Get Onto the Ice
The Oilers have tasted blood and are eager to get back into action. Their probably best performance of the entire 2023-24 campaign was in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals when they won 8:1. However, they looked really great in the following game as well.
They won the previous game 5:3 with McDavid being their best player of the match. He looked very confident and very pleased with himself in that game. In fact, most of Edmonton’s men looked happy to still be in the race for the trophy.
The only Oiler who sort of failed to impress was Leon Draisaitl. He scored zero goals and made zero assists in that game. However, his form has been volatile since the start of the postseason. Nevertheless, this guy is famous for performing well when his team needs him. So, if the Oilers get in need of a hero on Friday evening, we might see Draisaitl score some goals.
