Additionally, the publication praised Flutter’s revenue growth of 25% in 2023 to $11.8 billion, despite the $1.2 billion loss after tax.

Making it to the TIME100 Most Influential Companies 2024 list, the company was also praised for its growing presence within the regulated gambling sector in the US with its leading brand, FanDuel. Amid the expansion of betting across the country, Flutter’s leading brand was able to score partnerships with sports leagues, including MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA, along with fan-favorite sports teams.

The Company Continues US Expansion

The release of the list of companies came ahead of Flutter’s confirmation for a shift to a primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Together with that important announcement, the company confirmed the appointment of Rob Coldrake as CFO. The strategic appointment further bolstered the positive momentum accumulated by the company in the growing market across the country.

Although the TIME100 Most Influential Companies 2024 list was released prior to the NYSE switch, TIME acknowledged Flutter’s intention to “capitalize on the US market.”

Aside from the positive, TIME also hinted at the negative side of the growing US sports betting market. “But Flutter’s growth comes at a time when betting scandals and US gambling addiction are in the spotlight,” TIME wrote.

On the bright side, the publication praised FanDuel’s efforts toward responsible gambling. The company was among a list of leading operators that helped form a coalition that seeks to fight against problem gambling called the Responsible Online Gambling Association (ROGA). The Association was founded in March this year and besides FanDuel, its members included DraftKings, BetMGM, Fanatics Betting and Gaming, Hard Rock Digital, be365 and PENN Entertainment.
