In a remarkable show of solidarity and generosity, leading gaming industry entities, the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), the American Gaming Association (AGA), and JCM Global (JCM), came together to make a substantial donation of $180,000 to the International Center for Responsible Gaming (ICRG).
Gaming Industry Raises $2.6M for ICRG in Total
The presentation ceremony took place amidst the vibrant atmosphere of the Global Gaming Expo (G2E), underscoring the industry’s commitment to responsible gambling practices. This substantial contribution was a result of the funds raised at the highly acclaimed 24th AGEM & AGA Golf Classic, presented by JCM Global earlier this year. The event, a testament to the industry’s dedication to social causes, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting ICRG’s critical research initiatives aimed at understanding and combatting problem gambling.
This substantial donation marks a new milestone in the long-standing partnership between the gaming industry and ICRG. With this year’s contribution, the total funds raised through the AGEM & AGA Golf Classic have surpassed an impressive $2.6 million.
The event was attended by prominent industry figures, including Dave Kubajak, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Operations at JCM, and Daron Dorsey, Executive Director of AGEM.
Global Gaming Leaders Converge for Insights, Collaboration, and Innovation at G2E 2023
G2E held from October 9 to October 12 showcases a gathering of prominent commercial and tribal gaming professionals. The event featured a highly anticipated keynote session at the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. Executives from leading companies such as MGM Resorts, Churchill Downs, and Entain participated in discussions about market trends, opportunities, and future challenges in the gambling sector.
Another notable speaker at the G2E event was Tim Miller, executive director of the UK’s Gambling Commission (UKGC), who emphasized the importance of collaboration among gambling regulators globally. He highlighted the need for regulators to hold operators accountable, especially when they engage in questionable practices in different markets.
Miller underscored the UKGC’s efforts to establish strong relationships with US regulators, aiming to enhance international cooperation and information sharing. He also stressed the significance of joint efforts in cracking down on unlicensed websites, showcasing the effectiveness of collaborations with payment providers, game developers, and search providers.
G2E also saw Penn Entertainment and ESPN executives share insights on the upcoming launch of ESPN Bet in November. ESPN’s vice president of sports betting & fantasy, Mike Morrison, affirmed ESPN’s long-term commitment to sports betting while ruling out involvement in iGaming. Penn Entertainment’s CEO, Jay Snowden, outlined the strategy, highlighting the integration of ESPN’s brand and customer base.
