Der Mannschaft Needs to Get Creative
Germany advanced to the Euro 2024 Round of 16 after finishing at the top of Group A, with two wins and a draw. The wins happened against Scotland (5:1) and Hungary (2:0), while the draw was against Switzerland in the final round of the group phase.
It was a 1:1 draw in which the Swiss played ultra-defensive soccer, especially after scoring the first goal of the match in the 28th minute. It took Germany 92 minutes to score the equalizer, after creating 19 attempts on goal.
It wasn’t easy but hard work paid off that for Julian Nagelsmann’s men. The trouble is that more hard labor awaits them on June 29. Denmark’s players are almost certainly going to defend with all they’ve got and it’s up to the Germans to get creative in order to find the net.
Denmark to “Park the Bus”
The Danas probably realize that they’re the weaker side in Saturday’s Round of 16 duel. This goes especially given that the game is played at Germany’s biggest sports arena. This is why they’ll probably stick to doing what they do best – defend with all they’ve got.
They finished the group stage as runners-up of Group C, with three draws and a score difference of 2:2. In the decisive third-round game with Serbia, they drew 0:0 thanks to superb defending. At one point, Serbia played with three classic strikers and two attacking midfielders behind them.
That did not help them, mainly because Denmark’s trio of center-backs did a fantastic job. Joachim Andersen was the man of the match, while 6’6 giant Jannik Vestergaard completely dominated the air. Andreas Christensen also had a great game, practically making no mistakes.
Germany vs. Denmark Euro 2024 Prediction
The big question ahead of the Germany vs. Denmark game on June 29 is whether Der Mannschaft can find the net. Are Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, and others creative enough to create good enough opportunities for Niclas Fullkrug and the rest to score? We think they are, especially given that they’ll have 80k+ fans to cheer them on.
