Hawk Tuah Girl Launches Crypto Token, Community Divided
While many experienced traders tend to question the value of memecoins, Bitcoin’s recent renaissance has attracted many new people to the sector, prompting increased interest in all things crypto

Hailey Welch, better known as the Hawk Tuah girl, has been turned into a memecoin. While many continue to enjoy the meme, some members of the crypto community are unamused.
Hawk Tuah Becomes a Crypto Token
Welch became a celebrity practically overnight thanks to the Hawk Tuah meme which she accidentally coined during a vox pop interview. When asked how one could please a man in bed, Welch said the snarky and now iconic phrase, referring to oral love.
Since becoming the new face of the internet, Welch has made the most out of her newfound fame, appearing on podcasts and participating in a variety of events. Hawk Tuah girl even got her own podcast, Talk Tuah, which has also received a fair share of attention from the internet humor community.
So, when Welch announced the launch of the memecoin HAWK, she once again stirred the internet.
HAWK to Hit the Market on December 4
HAWK will be a memecoin trading on the Solana blockchain. Like other memecoins, it is a cryptocurrency based on popular internet jokes. While many experienced traders tend to question the value of memecoins, Bitcoin’s recent renaissance has attracted many new people to the sector, prompting increased interest in all things crypto.
HAWK, according to Welch, will go live on December 4. However, it is already having an effect on the crypto community, which has met the news with mixed reactions.
One of the principal concerns is that HAWK could turn out to be a scam or a “rug pull” – a situation in which developers abandon a project after raising assets. While Welch herself denied that on X, this has done little to convince the biggest skeptics.
A month ago, Taylor Mathis, a well-known social media figure and DraftKings ambassador, found herself in hot water amid rug pull accusations. Mathis, who is behind the Walking Bets video series, promoted $TAYLOR, a crypto token named after her. Critics implied that she sold all of her assets as soon as the price started to increase, causing them to plummet.
In an effort to appease the crypto community, Mathis promised to give any money she won from selling tokens to the charity. However, she proceeded to buy 34 million $TAYLOR tokens at a lower price, causing further suspicion.
Whatever the case, the $TAYLOR drama has certainly made people more skeptical, which will likely be a major setback HAWK will have to overcome.
