IGT CEO of Global Lottery Fabio Cairoli Passes Away
The company confirmed that its CEO of global lottery passed away suddenly

The globally-recognized gaming company, International Game Technology (IGT), confirmed that unfortunately, its CEO of global lottery, Fabio Cairoli, passed away. The heartbreaking announcement came Monday, and the company praised Cairoli for his dedication and expertise that helped IGT grow on a global scale.
He provided strategic guidance for the company, allowing it to stand out from the competition thanks to its commitment to innovation. Moreover, Cairoli played an important role by overseeing strategic growth and business development processes.
It was more than a decade ago when he first joined IGT’s predecessor, Lottomatica Group S.p.A. After becoming a part of the company in 2012, Cairoli was appointed to the role of senior vice president of business. Before being appointed to his latest role of CEO global lottery, he held the position of CEO Italy. At the time, Cairoli played a key role in the company’s growth in the country after leading processes related to sales, marketing and business development.
The sudden passing of IGT’s CEO global lottery comes after only recently, the company expanded further its presence in Central America via a launch in Panama. Last week, IGT confirmed that under an agreement with Sortis Hotel, Spa & Casino in Panama City, it introduced its gaming machines and solutions.
Cairoli Was an Exceptional Leader and Executive
Marco Sala, IGT’s executive chair, spoke about Cairoli’s unfortunate passing, explaining that the company is deeply saddened by this announcement. Sala pointed out that Cairoli was an exceptional executive that was committed to strong results and innovation.
IGT’s executive chair said that the company’s CEO of global lottery was an exceptional leader that has proven his skills with different senior-level roles, encompassing various lottery-related verticals, including sales, development and technology growth.

Additionally, Sala said that Cairoli’s knowledge and experience helped him build many personal relationships within the industry, making him not only a trusted partner but also a friend to many. Finally, Sala extended condolences to Cairoli’s family on behalf of IGT.
