Not only is Inter Miami favored to win the opening game of the new season, but the Herons are also favored to win the 2025 MLS Cup. If you’re wondering why that is the case, it’s because their 2025 roster looks amazing.
Their best player is Lionel Messi, but they also have Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and many other legends of the sport. However, those guys were in Miami last season as well, but they didn’t get the team anywhere near the MLS Cup.

This team is also very good defensively, with NYCFC’s captain, center back Thiago Martins beaing their standout defender. However, we honestly doubt Martins and his teammates can stop Messi and his army.

We’re certain the Inter Miami vs. NYCFC will be a spectacle worthy of the 2025 MLS opener. Our prediction is that we’ll see plenty of goals on both ends, with the total number probably being higher than three goals.
But which team will score more? We’re not sure. In fact, we think that the most likely outcome is a tie.
