Inter Milan Hoping to Continue Playing Great

They beat Bayern Munich 2:1 in the first leg, with goals by Lautaro Martinez and Davide Frattesi. Still, the man of the match was their goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who saved six of Bayern’s seven shots on goal. It was one of his best performances this year.

He’ll have to do at least as well on April 16 as the visitors from Germany are bound to go all-in on the offense.

Bayern Munich Needs to Throw Everything at Inter Milan

Given that Inter Milan is one of the best defensive teams on the planet, Bayern Munich’s offense will have to do much better than last time around. In the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal, they scored one goal – Thomas Miller did it in the 85^th minute.

However, they made another 19 goal attempts that day. Obviously, they didn’t lack creativity in that game, but their forwards just couldn’t find the net more than once.

This is somewhat surprising given that they have Harry Kane on the roster. The Englishman is a real scoring machine with 10 goals scored in 12 games of the 2024-25 Champions League.

This is going to be a very close game, with Bayern Munich probably being the one to be on the front foot. The Germans will probably try to dominate the game, but we don’t think they’ll score too many goals.

And if they do, Inter Milan will almost certainly strike back. That said, we think that the most realistic outcome of the April 16 game is a draw.
