Justin Tafa is seen as the underdog in the fight against Tallison Teixeira, which may seem surprising given that the Brazilian fighter is making his UFC debut on February 8. But then again, Teixeira is 7-0, while the New Zealander is 7-4-1. Let’s see if the oddsmakers have done a good job with the Tafa vs. Teixeira odds.

Justin Tafa is a Force to be Reckoned With
Justin Tafa is 7-4-1 overall, with three losses by decision and just one by KO, which is pretty good for a heavyweight fighter. The loss in question happened on his UFC debut, back in 2019 when Yorgan De Castro unleashed a devastating punch that put Tafa to sleep.
Since then, no one managed to do the same. Tafa, on the other hand, beat a couple of very tough opponents by KO, most notably, Harry Hunsucker, Parker Porter, and Austen Lane.
This guy has dynamite in his fists, but he’s sluggish and usually doesn’t do great against athletic opponents.
He’s six foot tall, but weighs 260 pounds, which explains why he’s not very agile in the Octagon. Will this be a problem against Teixeira?
The Biggest Fight in Tallison Teixeira’s Career (So Far)
Tallison Teixeira is 7-0 with six wins by KO/TKO and one by submission. He’s a tall guy (6’7) with a 7-inch longer reach than Tafa. He’s also way faster than his next opponent.
One thing that he lacks is experience. So far, he’s only fought outside the UFC, with two fights in LFA and one in Dana White’s Contender Series. On the bright side, he was impressive in practically all of those.
In the DWCS fight, he beat Arthur Lopes with a straight right after less than two minutes of fighting.
Justin Tafa vs. Tallison Teixeira Prediction
After reading our Tafa vs. Teixeira preview, you understand why the Brazilian fighter is seen as the favorite. But we’re not 100% sure he’s actually going to win on February 8.
The thing is that Tafa is one of the most powerful fighters in the world, with the ability to knock literally any opponent out. Sure, Teixeria is much taller than him, but Tafa has already defeated some tall guys, most notably, Austen Lane.
On top of everything, the Tafa vs. Teixeira fight is taking place in Syndey, where the New Zealander is bound to have huge support from the fans.
Pick: Justin Tafa by KO/TKO
