Katie Taylor Defending Her Lightweight Titles Against Amanda Serano (Again)
Katie Taylor is putting her WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring female lightweight titles on the table on November 15. If she loses, she will still have her light-welterweight titles. This fact takes a bit of pressure off her, but you can still be certain that she’s going to go all-in in Texas.
The 38-year-old Irish athlete wants to end her professional career with as many championship belts in her collection as possible. The 2012 Olympic Gold medal winner is really close to cementing her status as the GOAT of female boxing.

She’s 23-1 overall, with her only loss happening by a majority decision against the light-welterweight champion at the time, Chantelle Cameron. This happened in May last year, and seven months later, she got her revenge by doing the same to the English boxer.
Now, she’s moving down to the lightweight class to fight Amanda Serrano, whom she defeated two years ago by a split decision. The bout in question happened at Madison Square Garden in New York. The reason this is important is that it’s Taylor’s only bout outside the British Isles in her last 10 bouts.
Amanda Serrano Plotting Revenge
Katie Taylor has only fought two American (well, to be precise, Puerto Rican) boxers in the United States – Amanda Serrano and her older sister Cindy. She won each of those by a decision, and betting odds suggest she’s going to win again.
But we’re not so sure about that. Serrano will be the one with the crown on her side on November 15. Plus, she’s got the motivation to win, as well as the skills and physique needed to get her revenge.
Similarly to Taylor, Serrano too is constantly in the conversation for the female boxing GOAT status. She’s 47-2-1 overall and holds the Guinness Record for the most titles in different weight classes.
Apart from being a boxing legend, she’s also dipped her toes in other combat sports, namely, MMA, submission grappling, and even pro wrestling. Some boxing pundits think that her experiments with other sports are what distracted her from preparing for the first fight with Taylor in 2022.
Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano Prediction
These two are very similar skills-wise, with Taylor being only slightly better technically and Serrano having more power. Anything can happen but given that the bout is taking place in the US, we think the Brooklyn-based boxer will win.
Pick: Amanda Serrano
