Las Vegas Sands Backs Local Youth Programs with $100,000 Grant
This year’s funding will expand existing youth initiatives and launch new ones, including a newly introduced STEM program

Las Vegas Sands has shown its dedication to community growth by giving $100,000 to 100 Black Men Las Vegas. The Sands Cares program made this gift to help various projects that aim to boost young people in Southern Nevada. These efforts focus on education, mentoring, and career growth.
Sands Grant Fuels New Youth Initiatives and Push for Permanent Facility in Las Vegas
This year’s funding will help grow current youth programs and start several new ones. One fresh addition is a STEM program to get students more involved in science and technology. Another new project Pathways to Public Service, aims to foster future careers in public safety, like police work and emergency services. Also starting up is Realtist Academy, a program to prepare people for jobs in real estate and mortgage brokerage.
Sands’ donation will also help the organization in its push to get a permanent building — a key move to ensure programs can keep running and stay accessible for years to come.
Gentry Richardson, who heads up 100 Black Men Las Vegas, pointed out that Sands’ long-term backing has been crucial to the group’s expansion. He said their partnership, which matches their aim to build self-reliance, toughness, and chances for local kids, has had an impact on their ability to reach more people and make a bigger difference.
$100K Grant Fuels Life Skills, Academic Gains, and Community Outreach in Las Vegas
A big chunk of the grant will keep funding the Crossroads mentorship program, which gives advice and teaches life skills to middle and high school kids. The program zeroes in on more than 30 key skills, from understanding emotions to getting ready for the job market. In 2024, it helped over 1,500 students and saw their grades go up by 20% overall compared to the year before.
Giving out scholarships is another main goal. With Sands’ backing, the group handed out over $80,000 in scholarships last year and now wants to hit $100,000 in 2025. On top of that, community events like a monthly online cooking class and the yearly Thanksgiving food drive stay crucial parts of how they help out.
Ron Reese, who leads global communications and corporate affairs at Las Vegas Sands, underlined how much the company values its custom-made approach to help communities. He applauded their grasp of local needs and their skill in responding with significant programs that have a big impact. Las Vegas Sands and 100 Black Men Las Vegas have joined forces, sharing a goal to boost educational success and build a strong, future-ready workforce in the area.
