We think that Liverpool vs. Brighton is going to be a fantastic game. First of all, it’s because both teams have been playing great soccer since the start of the 2024-25 English Premier League. The Reds are second in the standings, while the Seagulls are sitting in the No. 6 position.

Another reason why the November 2 game is bound to be a banger is that these two tend to score a lot against one another. The evidence is that “over 2.5 goals” happened in each of their last five duels.

Liverpool Aiming the No. 1 Spot in the Premier League

Last weekend, Liverpool dropped to No. 2 place in the English Premier League. This happened after they played a 2:2 draw with Arsenal in London. It was actually a result the Reds can be proud of. They were trailing behind the Gunners two times but ended up getting a point from their trip to Emirates Stadium.

The atmosphere in the Reds locker room should be good after that game, especially given that they’ve got a couple of easily winnable games ahead. This weekend, they’re playing against Brighton in the Premier League, the team they also play against in the EFL Cup mid-week.

It’s the EPL game that matters the most as the Reds wish to get back on the winning track in order to stay in the race for the title with Manchester City. So, can they beat Brighton on November 2? They definitely have the manpower to pull it off, although some of their key men are still missing.

Goalkeeper Alisson is still out with an injury, and the same goes for Harvey Elliott and Federico Chiesa. On the bright side for Liverpool, coach Arne Slot will be able to count on all of his most in-form players – Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Virgil van Dijk, and others.

Brighton Ready for War at Anfield

The Seagulls are flying high in the Prem at the moment. They’re 4-4-1 right now, which accounts for 16 points. They’re sixth in the standings, with a chance of moving all the way up to the No. 3 spot this weekend.

For that, however, they need to beat Liverpool at Anfield, which doesn’t seem very likely. After all, they did it only once in history. It happened in 2021 when there were no fans in the stands due to COVID-19 restrictions.

What’s also very interesting is that only three Brighton players who started that game are still on the roster. And two of them won’t play on Saturday due to injury concerns – Solly March and Adam Webster. Brighton will also miss Yankuba Minteh, Pedro Joao, James Milner, and possibly even their best player in 2024, Danny Welbeck.

The Seagulls have had problems with injuries over the last couple of weeks, but they’ve still done well in the Prem, winning two of their last three games. In their most recent EPL outing, they drew 2:2 with Wolves, which was kind of disappointing.

Their defense conceded two goals to Wolves, meaning that they could get ripped apart by Salah & Co. Brighton’s coach Fabian Hurzeler is aware of this, which is why the 31-year-old will probably try to outscore the Reds as that’s the only way his team can get anything out of this game.

Liverpool vs. Brighton Prediction

Brighton’s players are coming to Anfield to give Liverpool war. They’re not going to defend, but do just the opposite, knowing that the Reds are without their first-choice goalie.

Our prediction is that they will manage to find the net once or twice, but we don’t think that’s going to be enough to get anything out of this game. No matter how many goals they score, Liverpool will score more.

Pick: Liverpool & Over 2.5 Goals
