Los Angeles Chargers Playing Great Football Lately
The LA Chargers are 8-4, which is a great record considering that their 2024 NFL schedule has been pretty tough. But they’re in great shape, with five wins in the last six game weeks.
In their last game, they defeated the Atlanta Falcons 17:13 on the road. Their defense did really great against Atlanta’s Kirk Cousins-led offense. Actually, their defensive team has been sensational throughout the season.
The Chargers are the NFL’s best defense in 2024, conceding just 15.7 points per game on average. Even against the Chiefs, they did alright, conceding just 17 points. Their offense didn’t do great in that game, scoring just 10 points.
They then upped their game, particularly their quarterback, Justin Herbert. However, his recent form isn’t great. In fact, he failed to throw for a single touchdown in his last two games. The worst thing is that in last weekend’s game, his QB Rating was just 27.4 – his worst number since September.
Kansas City Chiefs Wanna Stay 100% at Home
The Kansas City Chiefs are 11-1 in the 2024 NFL, with their only loss of the season happening against the Bills in Buffalo. This happened three weeks ago, and since then, they’re 2-0.
However, neither of those wins was convincing. First, they beat the Carolina Panthers by a field goal; then, they beat the Las Vegas Raiders by just two points. They could’ve lost to the Raiders easily if Vegas’ placekicker hadn’t missed a field goal late in the fourth quarter.
Obviously, the Chiefs haven’t been too impressive in their 2024 games, but they’ve been taking care of the business. They’re just one win away from winning the AFC West title, so they can take it easy.
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Kansas City Chiefs Prediction
The KC Chiefs haven’t been in great form, especially not offensively, which is why we suspect they can produce much against the LA Chargers’ defense. What about the other way around – can Justin Herbert & Co. do anything against the Chiefs’ defense?
We don’t think they can outscore the Chiefs, but they can definitely keep things interesting until the end. As a result – if they lose – they won’t lose by more than four points.
