Deadly Crime Leaves Two Injured, Two Die
Back in April, Joseph P. Ganim, Bridgeport’s Mayor, together with Roderick Porter Sr., Bridgeport’s Police Chief, held a press conference that took place in front of 1542 Stratford Avenue, where the deadly crime occurred. The two urged the community to report illegal gambling activities so that further violent crimes could be prevented by law enforcement. Since the shooting, the illegal gambling club has been closed down.
The deadly shooting happened on March 30, 2024. Around 11 PM on the day, police responded to a call for multiple individuals shot at Stratford Avenue and Logan Street. Law enforcement arrived on the scene and uncovered four people who had been shot.
A 30-year-old and 32-year-old male were found outside bleeding. The two were transported to a hospital where they were pronounced dead. Another two people who had also been shot at the illegal gambling club Stratford Avenue were treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
