Our Manchester City vs. Chelsea prediction is that this is going to be a much tougher game for the home team than what the EPL odds are suggesting. The Cityzens are -280 favorites, which is no surprise as they’re unbeaten at home this season in the Prem.
However, the Blues from London have turned into real giant-slayers. The best evidence is that the last time they played against Man City, Maurizio Pochettino’s men labored a 4-4 draw.

Manchester City Needs 3 Points to Keep Up With Liverpool
Manchester City is currently in second place in the Premier League with two points fewer than Liverpool. However, they’ve also played one game fewer than the Reds, meaning that if they keep on winning, they will leapfrog them to the No. 1 spot.
The good news for Pep Guardiola’s boys is that they’ve been playing fantastic soccer since the start of the year. In fact, they have all wins in all competitions since mid-December.
At home, they’ve been particularly impressive, especially in the Premier League. They’re without a single home loss in the EPL this season, with eight wins and three draws.
Further, they also have a very good record against Chelsea, particularly in games played at Etihad Stadium in Manchester. They won their last four duels at this venue. The last time they lost to Chelsea at home was in 2021 when there were no fans in the stands due to COVID protocols. Plus, three years ago, Chelsea’s roster was quite different from the one in 2024.
Can Chelsea Upset the EPL Odds on Saturday?
Chelsea is not doing great this season, currently sitting in the middle of the table. Pochettino’s men are 10-4-10 this season, but they still do have plenty of time to challenge for a spot in Europe. For that, however, they need to continue playing well.
They won three of their last five Premier League games, scoring 10 goals in the process. This is actually a great sign that Chelsea’s going to do better in the future. Scoring used to be their problem at the start of the season, but now, the Blues look good offensively.
It’s mainly thanks to playmaker Cole Palmer, a former Manchester City player who’s Chelsea’s top-scorer, as well as the player with the most assists in the Premier League. This is a guy who’s made his teammates start playing better, including Nicolas Jackson, Mykhailo Mudryk, and Raheem Sterling.
Manchester City vs. Chelsea Prediction
There’s no doubt that Manchester City is better than Chelsea, but the Blues can definitely give the Cityzens a real war on Saturday. They’re not coming to Manchester with a white flag raised; instead, they’ll try to win themselves some points. We’re not sure they will concede, but we can definitely see them scoring a goal or two (or more).
