Manchester City Need to Start Winning ASAP
Pep Guardiola’s men have been horrible this season, at least for their standards. They’re 8-3-6 in the Premier League, which accounts for 27 points. That’s 12 points fewer than table leaders Liverpool, who also have one extra game to play.
Sure, the season still hasn’t even reached its half-point, so there’s plenty of time for the Cityzens to turn things around. The problem is that their recent couple of performances aren’t giving anyone much hope. They lost their last three games, two of which happened in the Premier League – against Man United and Aston Villa, each time by 2:1.
To make things even worse, Man City’s first-choice goalkeeper Ederson got injured. He will miss the Boxing Day game, and so will Ruben Dias, Matheus Nunes, and Rodri.
Can Everton Pull Off a Christmas Miracle?
The Toffees are currently above the relegation zone, and it’s all thanks to their recent good form. They’re 1-3-1 in their last five Premier League games, which is actually a very good result given that they played against Chelsea and Arsenal in the last two rounds.
In both of those games, the final score was 0:0. Obviously, Everton’s defense was brilliant in both of those games. However, their offense hasn’t been great this season. Actually, with 14 goals scored in 16 games, they’re the second-least-scoring team in the Premier League in the 2024-25 season.
Their top scorer in the Prem is midfielder Dwight McNeil, with just three goals so far. In comparison, Man City’s top scorer, Erling Haaland, has 13 goals to his name. To make things even worse, McNeil will miss the Boxing Day game due to an injury.
Manchester City vs. Everton Prediction
This is a must-win game for Manchester City. They need to end their losing run ASAP, which shouldn’t be that hard against such a low-scoring team as Everton. Backup goalie Brian Ortega should be able to keep a clean sheet, while Man City’s offense looks capable of finding the net at least once.
Pick: Manchester City
