Massachusetts Man Wins $1M Prize; Wisconsin Lottery Sells $350K Ticket

They say lighting doesn’t strike twice but a family from Massachusetts managed to bag a big lottery prize for the second time

Thomas Ensko, a man from Blackstone, Massachusetts, has hit a $1 million Mega Millions prize during Tuesday’s drawing. While the man was not lucky enough to win the jackpot, he nailed enough numbers correctly to turn his $2 ticket into a million-dollar payday.

The winning ticket was bought at Anderson’s Variety in Blackstone, which is set to receive $10,000 for selling the winning ticket.

What’s so special about Ensko’s win is that this was the second time his family had won a huge lottery prize. Some twenty years earlier, his wide also won a $1 million prize from an instant lottery ticket. Ensko has now matched her win, securing his family some extra financial security.

In an interview, the man explained that he has been playing Mega Millions for the past two decades, selecting the same numbers. He teased that the numbers he uses correlate to his date of birth – a tactic that has finally paid off.  

As for Ensko’s plans, the man said that he plans to share the money with his children and grandchildren.

Wisconsin Player Strikes the SuperCash Jackpot

In the meantime, the Wisconsin Lottery announced that it had sold a SuperCash ticket worth $350,000 at Webster’s Marketplace in Ripon. The ticket in question matched all six numbers for the Monday drawing, the lottery said.

For context, the winning numbers were 5, 6, 16, 17, 19 and 28.

As of the time of this writing, the winner has yet to come forward and claim their money. Under the Wisconsin Lottery’s rules, they have 180 days to contact lottery officials.

For context, the latest win marks the sixth time in 2024 that the Wisconsin Lottery has sold a jackpot-winning ticket. According to official information, the odds of winning the $350,000 SuperCash jackpot stand at 1 in 1,631,312.
