Governor Joe Lombardo announced on Monday that Mike Dreitzer has been appointed as the new chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Governor Appoints New Chairman
Dreitzer will succeed Kirk Hendrick, who plans to resign after the 2025 legislative session. In a statement, Governor Joe Lombardo expressed his enthusiasm for appointing Mike Dreitzer as the incoming Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. He highlighted Dreitzer’s extensive background in gaming compliance and decades of industry experience, adding that he is confident Dreitzer will lead the Board with integrity and honor while continuing to advance its recent innovation and progress.
The governor also thanked Hendrick for his work and dedication over the years. He emphasized the fact that thanks to Hendrick‘s guidance, the Nevada Gaming Control Board has eliminated bureaucratic hurdles. This has made a lot of progress in gaming modernization and innovation in the state.
Hendrick and Dreitzer Also Comment
Dreitzer, who most recently served as CEO of Gaming Arts, LLC, expressed his gratitude for the appointment. He stated that he was deeply honored by this appointment to the Nevada Gaming Control Board and grateful to Governor Lombardo for his confidence. Dreitzer also noted that he looks forward to furthering the Board’s essential mission while supporting its agents and staff to ensure the highest quality gaming regulation for the state.
Dreitzer’s impressive career spans several key roles, including President of the North America Division at Ainsworth Game Technology, Inc., COO of BMM Americas, and Co-Founder and COO of G3. Additionally, he has held compliance positions at Progressive Gaming International Corporation and served as a Deputy Attorney General in Nevada.
Meanwhile, Hendrick thanked Governor Lombardo for allowing him to lead the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Hendrick noted that working alongside his fellow Board members, as well as the dedicated Board agents and employees, has been the highlight of his public service career. With time remaining until the end of the legislative session, he expressed eagerness to accomplish even more for the state of Nevada.
Hendrick also explained that he has known Dreitzer for almost 30 years and has confidence that the transition will be smooth. Both men worked together in the Attorney General’s office in the past, and Hendrick praised Governor Lombardo for choosing Dreitzer as the next chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board.
Hendrick will vacate his current post on June 22, 2025, with Dreitzer expected to start the next day on June 23, 2025.
