The National Council of Legislators from Gaming States (NCLGS) unveiled details regarding a much-anticipated summer meeting that will gather legislators, gambling operators, lobbyists and other gambling industry stakeholders this week. The NCLGS Summer Meeting is planned to take place between July 12 and July 15, 2023, at the Sheraton Downtown Denver and attract a wide range of attendees that will be able to discuss the development and growth of the regulated gambling and betting sector, as well as challenges related to the industry.
Multiple panels within the NCLGS Summer Meeting will attract experts, lawmakers and decision-makers that will discuss important advancements in the gambling vertical, including regulation, mergers and acquisitions, as well as responsible gambling.
The first session, titled Mergers and Acquisitions will be moderated by a representative from Connecticut, Kevin Ryan, and will see the participation of experts, including, Jordan Bender, a senior equity analyst with JMP Securities, as well as Ali Bartlett, a partner with Bose, McKinney and Evans. Anna Marin Russell, the Ohio Casino Control Commission’s senior legal counsel and licensing director, as well as Peter Kulick, Dickinson Wright’s member and taxation co-chair, will also participate in the aforementioned panel.
David Muradian, a representative from Massachusetts will be the moderator of the second panel, titled Intersection of Regulatory Enforcement and Gaming Policy. The panel will feature experts including Mississippi Gaming Commission’s executive director, Jay McDaniel, and Colorado Division of Gaming’s former director of gaming, Dan Hartman. Additionally, Sean M. McGuinness, a partner with Butler Snow LLP, and Wyoming Gaming Commission’s executive director, Charles Moore, will participate in the upcoming panel.
The Event Will Attract Legislators and Regulators from 28 States
The summer and winter meetings by the NCLGS are currently the sole gaming conferences in the US that “focus on the goals and plans of legislative decision-makers.” The upcoming conference will provide unique networking opportunities with more than 90 representatives of regulators and legislators from 28 different states that have confirmed their attendance. At the same time, the event delivers a unique opportunity to meet legislators and suppliers, operators and media representatives.
One of the highlights of the upcoming event will include David Highhill, the National Football League’s VP and general manager of sports betting. Mark Ferrandino, Colorado Department of Revenue’s executive director, as well as Tipico North America’s CEO, Adrian Vella, are also planned to participate in the upcoming discussions and deliver invaluable insights.
