Apart from being in great form, they have other reasons to feel good about the June 14 game. One of those reasons is that they’ve got a very good record against Columbus Crew. They beat them in seven of the 11 MLS games played in New York. Last season, however, both of their duels ended in a draw.
Columbus Crew Want to Bounce Back After a Loss in CCC Final
On the second day of June, the Columbus Crew lost 3-0 to Pachuca in the Final of the CONCACAF Champions Cup (CCC). The Mexican team was just better throughout the game. The good news for Columbus is that there are no such tough games on their schedule in the MLS, at least not in the near future.
Sure, they are supposed to play against Inter Miami after the game with NYCFC, but Lionel Messi – as well as a few other stars – will not play for the Herons due to Copa America duties.
What this means is that Columbus Crew stands a very good chance to improve its position in the standings of the 2024 MLS Eastern Conference. This goes especially for the fact that the Crew have played three games fewer than the two teams sitting above them in the standings.
