NYCFC Form Seems to Be On the Rise
The New York City FC are 1-1-1 this season, but their form seems to be improving. They started the season with a loss to Nashville, but in their next game, they drew with Chicago Fire. In both of those games, they played on the road, while in their first game at Yankee Stadium, the NYCFC defeated Inter Miami.
Their second game at home in 2023 is on the program this coming Saturday when they welcome DC United. The last time they welcomed them in the Big Apple, they lost 2-1. However, before that, they destroyed the boys from the US capital 6-0.
The blowout win happened in 2021 when we saw five different players get on the scoresheet. The bad news for the NYCFC is that only one of those is still in New York. The good news, however, is that they don’t seem to be missing those players. They look really good in 2023, and their playoff ambitions seem justified.
DC United’s Record is Way Better Than It Should Be
This team has the same record as the NYCFC, but we don’t think that should be the case. It’s just that DC united are one of the worst teams in the MLS. In fact, last season they finished with a 7-6-21 record. All the other MLS franchises collected more points than them in 2022.
In the 2023 season, however, they’ve already collected four points. They started the season with a win over Toronto FC at home. They then went to Ohio in the second round when they lost to Columbus Crew. Finally, in their most recent game, they drew with Orlando City at home.
This weekend, it’s time for their second game on the road this season and they have every right to feel worried.
New York City FC vs DC United Prediction
The NYCFC need to win this game. It’s an easy matchup, so they really mustn’t fail to grab all three points. They got the manpower, motivation, and fan support needed to win this match.
Pick: New York City FC to win
