Portugal vs. France 2024 Euro Odds, Time, and Prediction
Portugal vs. France is a quarterfinal game of the 2024 Euro, which will take place at Volksparkstadion in Hamburg on Friday, July 5.

Our Portugal vs. France prediction is that the Euro 2024 game on July 5 will be a low-scoring affair. Why? Because no French player has scored a single goal from open play since coming to Germany. Also, Portugal couldn’t find the net in the game with Slovenia, which lasted for more than two hours.
Spain vs. Germany Euro 2024 Odds

When, Where, and How to Watch?

Is There Trouble in Portuguese Paradise?
Cristiano Ronaldo is Portugal’s biggest star. He’s their captain and their most important player, but his output hasn’t been too great since the start of the Euros. In the previous game, which saw Portugal beat Slovenia on penalties, CR7 had plenty of goal chances but failed to convert them.
He was the center of attention throughout the game, taking four free picks and missing every single one of them. Given that he’s scored only one of his 60 free kicks for the Portugal national team in his career, it’s kind of strange that he didn’t let his teammates (e.g., Bruno Fernandes) have a go.

Ronaldo even had a chance to score from the penalty spot in the 105th minute but the Slovenian goalkeeper saved it. As a result, the game was to be decided by a penalty shootout.
CR7 scored his goal in the shootout, but it was Portugal’s goalkeeper who stole the show. Diogo Costa saved all three of Slovenia’s penalty kicks, thus becoming the first goalkeeper in the history of the Euros to produce such a feat.
France Confident of Getting the Job Done
France hasn’t looked great so far, but this team has been getting the job done. In the round of 16, Les Bleus beat Belgium 1:0 with the only goal being an own goal by one of Belgium’s defenders. This may not seem like an impressive achievement, but France’s players were actually superb tactically.
This goes especially for France’s defenders, who put Romelu Lukaku and Kevin De Bruyne in their pocket. Les Bleus midfielders also did a fine job keeping the ball far away from their goal. Over in the final third, Kylian Mbappe & Co. created several dangerous chances, but their main objective was to keep the Belgians on their toes.
What’s interesting is that the French still haven’t scored a single goal from open play in this tournament. Maybe that will change on July 5?
Portugal vs. France Prediction
Who’s going to win the Portugal vs. France Euro 2024 game? We think neither team, at least not in the regular 90 minutes. We think a draw is very likely to happen, but we suspect that Didier Deschamps would do better in the 30 minutes of extra time.
The thing is that Portugal’s players are coming off a tiring 120+ minutes game with Slovenia that saw 41-year-old Pepe literally losing control over his legs due to exhaustion. We doubt these guys can pull through another such odyssey.
