Wednesday marked the latest drawing of the popular lottery game, Powerball. While millions of lottery aficionados tried their luck, no one was able to hit the game’s jackpot. After the latest drawing, the grand prize from Powerball has now surpassed $900 million for the first time this year.
The jackpot from Powerball is estimated at a staggering $935 million for the upcoming drawing. The cash value of the grand prize is also worth mentioning, a whopping $449.7 million. Still, it is important to note that the aforementioned sums are before the applicable taxes.
Wednesday’s Powerball drawing included winning white balls 37, 46, 57, 60, 66, as well as red Powerball 8. The game’s Power Play multiplier was set at 2x. And while no one guessed correctly all winning numbers to secure the grand prize, three lottery players matched all five white balls. The players, one in Arizona, Texas and Pennsylvania, took home $1 million each. Sadly, nobody secured a Power Play $2 million prize from the latest drawing.
Within the lower prize tiers, 44 tickets won $50,000 each, while seven ticket holders pocketed a $100,000 Power Play prize each for guessing correctly four white balls along with the red Powerball. Overall, there were more than 1.7 million winning tickets within all different prize tiers from Powerball’s drawing on Wednesday. The next draw of the popular lottery game is scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2024.
If somebody hits the jackpot on the upcoming drawing, they will secure the fifth-largest prize from Powerball. The sixth-largest jackpot from the game was won at the start of the year when a lucky player from Michigan hit the $842 million jackpot at the time.
