The grand prize from Powerball, America’s popular lottery game, survived the drawing on Wednesday. At the time, the jackpot was advertised at $96 million or $46.2 million as a cash option.
With nobody guessing correctly the winning white balls 4, 9, 36, 47, 56 and the red Powerball number 7 from the drawing earlier this week, the jackpot now surpassed the mind-blowing $100 million.
The grand prize for the popular lottery game for the next drawing is estimated at a staggering $113 million. The aforementioned option represents an annuity, which means that if the winner wants to collect the full prize, they will receive annual installments for 30 years.
However, if a person wins the jackpot on the upcoming drawing, they can also select a cash option. This would grant them an estimated $54.3 million. Undoubtedly that figure is far from the astronomical $113 million but it is still life-changing for most people.
The next drawing for Powerball is scheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024.
The odds of winning an overall prize from Powerball are always the same – 1 in 24.87. On the other hand, the odds of winning the jackpot from Powerball are 1 in 292.2 million.
No Jackpot or Million-Dollar Prizes Won
Not only did Wednesday not produce a jackpot winner, but nobody was able to collect a second-tier prize. If a person had guessed correctly the five white balls from the last draw, the would’ve won $1 million. Nobody was able to claim a $2 million Power Play prize from the recent drawing as well.
On the bright side, a dozen players who guessed correctly four white balls along with the red Powerball from the recent draw won $50,000 each. One player who paid extra for Power Play secured a whopping $250,000 prize.
Nearly 600 lucky Powerball players won $100 from the latest drawing. Another 221 players scooped up $500 Power Play prizes each.
More than 260,000 lottery players secured a prize from the lowest tier, collecting $4 each, while more than 100,000 players won a $20 Power Play prize each.
