UFC Mexico Odds Favor Raul Rosas Jr.

Raul Rosas Jr. is only 20, but he’s already proved himself as a top-level fighter. With a 10-1 record, he’s already a UFC star. His only loss happened in 2023 when we saw him lose by decision to Christian Rodriguez.

However, he quickly learned his lesson and bounced back with three straight wins. Two of those victories earned him Performance of the Night bonuses – one for a TKO over Terrence Mitchell and another for a submission win against Ricky Turcios.

The latter win showed everyone that he’s a world-class grappler. His Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills are fantastic and he’s also a takedown master who lands more than four TDs per fight on average.

Can Vince Morales End His 2-Fight Losing Skid?

Vince Morales is a well-rounded fighter with experience across multiple martial arts. However, the real question is how well he can apply those skills at the UFC level.

Since rejoining the promotion last year, he’s 0-2. In his first stint at the UFC, he had a record of 3-5. It’s not great, but we did see him do fine on several occasions.

One of his strengths has been takedown defense. He’s shown solid resistance against grapplers in past fights.

However, his biggest issue has been striking defense, particularly against leg kicks. Opponents have exploited this weakness, and Rosas Jr. will probably try to do the same.

If Morales wants to snap his two-fight skid, he needs to tighten up his strike defense, which we’re not 100% positive he can.

Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Vince Morales Prediction

We think the UFC want to turn Raul Rosas Jr. into a real start. But they want to do it slowly, helping him gain valuable experience in fights against relatively beatable opponents such as Vince Morales.

While he’s a well-rounded fighter, he just isn’t at the level needed to beat a rising UFC star. That said, we do expect a fierce battle, which the Mexican-American youngster will win in the end.

Pick: Raul Rosas Jr.
