Real Madrid beat Manchester City 3:2 in their first duel, which took place in England. Eight days later, the two will meet again, this time in Spain.
To advance to the next stage of the 2025 Champions League, the defending champions just need to make sure they don’t lose on Wednesday. The champions from two years ago, however, can only get there with a win of two or more goals.

Real Madrid Playing Incredible Soccer Right Now
Excluding the shocking loss to Espanyol a few weeks ago, Los Blancos have been terrific this month. Their best performance happened in last week’s duel with Man City, in which they came back two times before finally scoring the winner in the second minute of stoppage time.
Jude Bellingham was the man who scored the decisive goal, while the other two were the work of Brahim Diaz and Kylian Mbappe. Vinicius Junior made two assists and Danni Ceballos made one.
The only area in which Los Blancos weren’t great that day was defense. Goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois did not do great, at least not for his standards. But then again, he was faced against Erling Haaland and other elite opponents. The same thing awaits him on Wednesday – will he do any better this time around?
Manchester City Have No Other Option But to Attack
The 2024-25 campaign has been arguably their worst since the start of the Pep Guardiola era at Manchester City. Not only are they fifth in the Premier League, but they’re also out of the Carabao Cup. The worst thing is that they’re very close to losing their place in the 2025 Champions League as well.
Dropping out of this competition would be a sort of disaster for one of the world’s most illustrious sports clubs. This is why you can bet that Pep Guardiola and his men will take Wednesday’s game very seriously.
They need to win against Real Madrid, and the only way to do it is to go all-in on the offense. Luckily for them, attacking is what they do best.
Real Madrid vs. Manchester City Game 2 Prediction
Last week, our pick was Real Madrid at +178, and we were right! This time around, we think it’s going to be the exact opposite. Manchester City have no other option but to attack with all they got, and in such cases, they usually win.
