Professional poker player Seth Davies has made history by winning the Super High Roller Bowl IX. Now, the poker pro has added $3.2 million to his winnings track record.
Davies Defeated His Opponents
The Super High Roller Bowl IX was a high-roller tournament with a buy-in of $300,000. It welcomed 24 seasoned professionals, including Davies. The finals saw Davies face off against Juan Pardo, a Spanish poker powerhouse. With a lead of 4.26 million chips against Pardo’s 2.94 million, Davies had a clear advantage.
In just two hands, Davies secured the top spot and some $3.2 million to add to his lifetime poker tournament winnings.
On the second hand of the finals, Davies performed spectacularly, raising pre-flop with 8-7 while Pardo called with 4-3. The two players then revealed the flop of 5-K-9 which was very much in Davies’ favor, providing him with the perfect 6. He called a bluff to bring on the river, which was even more exciting and it made Pardo overconfident.
Pardo bet big, assured of his win. Davies, however, moved all-in. Pardo ended up calling, only to see Davies win with a straight over straight.
Thanks to this win, Davies was crowned champion of the Super High Roller Bowl IX and, as mentioned, took $3.2 million back home. In addition to that, he moved up to 13th place on the PokerGo Tour leaderboard. The top spot, meanwhile is occupied by Jeremy Ausmus who finished third in the Super High Roller Bowl IX.
