SkyCity’s New CEO Steps into the Office, New CFO Named
The new CFO boasts some 25 years of experience in the listed energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as in the financial and investment banking sectors across Australia, Asia and the Pacific Rim

SkyCity Entertainment Group announced on July 15 that its newly designated chief executive officer has stepped into the office. Jason Walbridge, who was selected as the next CEO in April, succeeded Julian Cook, who transferred to a directorial role.
In the meantime, Callum Mallett stepped down from the role of interim chief executive officer. Mallet has now returned to his usual chief operating officer for New Zealand role.
Finally, Brad Burnett, who served as interim chief operating officer for New Zealand during Mallett’s time as interim CEO, has now taken up the new role of general manager of gaming for Auckland.
A day later, SkyCity’s new CEO welcomed another addition to the company’s C-suite.
SkyCity Names Fredricson CFO
In an update released on July 16, SkyCity Entertainment announced the addition of Peter Fredricson as its new chief financial officer. The appointment, subject to regulatory approvals, if any, will put the experienced finance veteran in charge of the operator’s financial matters.
Fredricson, according to SkyCity Entertainment, boasts some 25 years of experience in the listed energy and infrastructure sectors, as well as in the financial and investment banking sectors across Australia, Asia and the Pacific Rim.
He has worked for a variety of notable companies, including Oil Search Limited, APA Group and Vector Limited. The new hire is also a chartered accountant in New Zealand, holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
As SkyCity’s new chief financial officer, Fredricson will leverage his expertise in finance, equity and debt capital markets, investor relations, strategic business development, disciplined capital allocation, growth and M&A to underpin the operator’s growth.
The new appointee boasts significant experience in executive positions and is intimately familiar with the responsibilities associated with the CFO role, making him a perfect fit for the SkyCity team. He is set to join the company on August 5, replacing the outgoing Julie Amey.
As mentioned, CEO Walbridge welcomed the new CFO on board, wishing him all the best.
