Two Powerball Players Become $1M Richer, Saturday Drawing Elects No Big Winner
The numbers drawn on April 18 were 24, 25, 39, 46, and 61, plus the red Powerball 1
Two Powerball players have turned their tickets for the Saturday drawing into an unforgettable memory after winning $1 million each. However, the drawing did not award the jackpot as no player succeeded in matching all six numbers in the game.
Powerball Players Won Seven-Figure Prizes
The Saturday Powerball drawing was a pretty eventful one, despite the fact that no one managed to win the game’s top prize. At the time of the drawing, the jackpot stood at $76 million with a cash value of $34.6 million.
The numbers drawn on April 18 were 24, 25, 39, 46, and 61, plus the red Powerball 1. The Power Play modifier, on the other hand, was 5x.
While no one managed to match all six winning numbers, a few players came close, matching either five white numbers or four white numbers and the Powerball. The first group included two players, one in New York and one in Oregon. The two lucky winners thus secured themselves Match 5 prizes of $1 million each.
The second group, on the other hand, had six players in total, five of whom won prizes of $50,000 each. The remaining player will take home $250,000 instead, thanks to the Power Play feature and the mouth-watering 5x multiplier.
After the jackpot remained unclaimed, it has now increased to $87 million with a one-time lump-sum option of $39.7 million. The next drawing is set to take place later today.
Powerball Jackpot Was Won, Game Goes to the UK
For reference, the most recent Powerball jackpot was won by a player in Delaware who matched all six numbers for the April 6 drawing to get a $231 million prize. After that, the prize was reset and is currently building up again.
In the meantime, the Powerball game is preparing to soon launch in the UK, too, providing Brits with the chance to participate in the excitement and compete with American players for the same jackpot. This was confirmed by Allwyn, the custodian of The National Lottery, which said that the launch of Powerball in the UK will be made possible by its partnership with the Multi-State Lottery Association.
As of the time of this writing, we don’t know when exactly the UK version of the game will launch.
