After getting hammered by Romania 3:0 in Round 1 of the Euros, Ukraine rose from the ashes to beat Slovakia 2:1 in the second round. Belgium did something similar – after losing 1:0 to Slovakia, the Red Devils went on to beat Romania 2:0.
Now, every team in Group E of the 2024 Euro has 3 points, meaning that the final round of the group phase will be crucial.

Ukraine’s Superstars Still Waiting for Their Moment
Ukraine has a very good roster in 2024, with at least one good player for every position on the field. However, this team’s biggest stars haven’t been great so far. Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk was okay in both of those games, but despite making some great solo efforts, he didn’t do anything that would result in a goal.
Then, there’s Artem Dovbyk, who won the top-scorer award in La Liga, but who’s still without a goal (or assist) in this tournament.
His teammate from Girona, Viktor Tsygankov, also started the tournament slowly with a bleak performance against Romania, for which he was dropped by the coach in the second round.
Speaking of changes, Sergey Rebrov made several for the game with Slovakia, which proved the right decision. Veteran Andriy Yarmolenko started the match and had a very good game before being subbed.
Roman Yaremchuk came from the bench and scored a goal. The other goal in that game was the work of Mykola Shaparenko, who played for the full 90 minutes.
For all these reasons, it’s hard to predict which starting lineup will Rebrov choose for the game with Belgium. But whichever he picks, you can be 100% confident that the Ukrainians are going to give their utmost on the field.
Belgium Is Looking Dangerous Once Again
Even though the men from Belgium’s “best generation” are past their prime, the Red Devils do look very good. They were brilliant in the game with Romania last week, which they won 2:0. It could’ve been 3:0 be a goal by Romelu Lukaku was disallowed after a VAR review.
The VAR was the reason why two of his goals were disallowed in the game with Slovakia in the first round, which Belgium ended up losing 1:0.
Now, Domenico Tedesco’s men are in such a situation that they still haven’t booked the ticket to the knockout stage. If they win, however, they’ll get there from one of the top two spots. But winning against motivated Ukraine isn’t going to be easy.
On the bright side for the Belgians, they do have an amazing midfield, with Kevin De Bruyne, Yuri Tielemans, and Amadou Onana. They also have lightning-fast wingers in Jeremy Doku and Dodi Lukebakio. In the center of the attacking department, there’s Romelu Lukaku, who, despite not scoring, did do okay in the last two games.
Ukraine vs. Belgium Prediction
Belgium’s defense isn’t as good as it was a couple of years ago, which is something Ukraine’s offense might be able to take advantage of. This goes especially if Mudryk, Dovbyk, and other forwards up their game.
Our prediction is that Ukraine will score a goal or two on Wednesday, we’re not sure if that’s going to be enough for a win. This is because the Red Devils are brilliant offensively, so they too will probably find the net a couple of times.
Over 3.5 looks like the best bet in our eyes, while a draw is the bet we’d choose for the moneyline market.
