Lionel Messi and Inter Miami are coming to Canada this coming weekend to take on the Vancouver Whitecaps for the first time ever. The Herons have been in fantastic form overall, but they did struggle offensively in the last two games, which could be a problem as the Whitecaps are great defensively.

Vancouver Whitecaps to Defend With All They’ve Got
The Vancouver Whitecaps are 5-4-4 this season, with a score difference of 19:15. Obviously, their offense isn’t spectacular, especially given that they scored just two goals in their last five MLS games.
Their defense, on the other hand, has been doing alright this season. These guys have conceded only 15 goals so far. The most they allowed in a game was three goals against Los Angeles FC, as well as against Los Angeles Galaxy.
In both of those games, they went on and attacked, creating more goal attempts than the opposition. This time, however, our prediction is that they will be on the back foot. Their No. 1 objective on May 25 will be to prevent Messi from creating too many chances.
Is Inter Miami Slowing Down?
Inter Miami is 9-4-2 in the 2024 season, with 36 goals scored in 15 games. No other team has scored anywhere as near as the Herons. In fact, the second-highest-scoring team in the 2024 MLS has scored 9 goals fewer.
However, Inter Miami scored just one goal in the last two games. they drew with Orlando City two weeks ago, then beat DC United 1-0, scoring the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
On the bright side for the team owned by David Beckham, their roster looks incredible. Obviously, Lionel Messi is their biggest star, but there are plenty of other amazing players in the squad – Luis Suarez, Leonardo Campana, etc.
With these players on the field, the Herons should be able to prolong their undefeated run. They are without a loss in nine previous MLS rounds, and we suspect they’re gonna make it a 10th on Saturday.
Vancouver Whitecaps vs. Inter Miami Prediction
We think that Inter Miami is the best team not only in the MLS but on the entire continent. That said, the Herons should have no problems winning against any opponent. We do, however, think this isn’t going to be a blowout win. Instead, a win by a goal or two for the visitors seems like the most likely outcome.
