West Ham is without a win in the Premier League in 2024, but the last time the Hammers won, they did it against Arsenal. Can they beat the Gunners again?
Betting odds suggest they can’t, and it’s mainly because Mikel Arteta’s men are in top shape, coming off a 3-1 win over the EPL table leader Liverpool last weekend.

West Ham Might be Arsenal’s Kryptonite
In the last three West Ham vs. Arsenal duels, the Hammers won twice, while their third duel finished in a draw. The last time they played, West Ham won 2-0 on Arsenal’s turf, with goals by Tomas Soucek and Konstantinos Mavropanos.
The Hammers had a chance to make it 3-0 but Said Benrahma missed a penalty in the 6th minute of stoppage time. That happened in December, but since then, the Hammers have been completely out of shape.
These guys are without a single win in the Premier League in 2024, even though their schedule hasn’t been too difficult. They played against Beighton, Sheffield United, and Bournemouth. Then, in their most recent game, they got hammered by Manchester United 3-0.
To be fair to David Moyes’s men, they were better in that game than what the final score suggests. They had more goal attempts than the Red Devils, but none of their 22 shots went in.
Arsenal Going for the No. 1 Spot in the Prem
The Gunners are 15-4-4, which puts them in the No. 3 position in the Premier League standings. They have 49 points, the same as Manchester City, but with an inferior score difference. They’re two points behind Liverpool, the team they defeated in the previous round.
The final score was 3-1, with three different Arsenal players scoring a goal – Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Leandro Trossard. The only goal for Liverpool came after Arsenal’s center-back Gabriel slotted the ball into his own net by accident.
In that game – as well as in most other games this season – Arsenal’s midfield trio was brilliant. Martin Odegaard, Jorginho, and former West Ham captain Declan Rice are the guys in question, who have been doing a great job at keeping the ball far away from their goal.
West Ham vs. Arsenal Prediction
The Hammers are playing on home turf, but we probably won’t see them dominate the game. The Gunners are incredible in the midfield, and we expect them to have the ball in their possession for most of the game. But will they be able to make something out of it?
We think they will. After all, these guys have scored at least a goal in each Premier League game they’ve played so far in 2024. In fact, their average in 2024 is 3.33 goals per game.
