Wicked Games Teases Fasting & Furious Game on April Fools’ Day

Wicked Games, the studio that builds games “that are fun, easy to pick up and impossible to put down,” has teased a new slot game on April Fools’ Day. Coincidence? Most likely.

The software developer that is “built on solid foundations with strong backing” took the game announcement to their LinkedIn page, where it addressed all of their “hangry friends” who “survived the fast” – a direct reference to this year’s Ramanad fasting that ended on March 29.

After welcoming them back, the studio went on to present “something truly haram,” i.e., “forbidden or proscribed by Islamic law.” Namely, their alleged new slot game called Fasting & Furious that will drop sometime in 2025.

Described as “inspired by the holiest month” but “released in the unholiest way,” the game is most likely nothing but an April Fools’ Day prank, especially since there’s no official information on the studio’s website.  

The announcement ended with “Coming soon. Or never. (That’s up to you.),” strongly suggesting it was a joke cooked by the studio that is, however, getting ready to launch a few controversial titles like Transformers and Big Black Cock.

The studio that is “here to play and stay” and boasts “player-centric games” with thrilling content launches fresh games every month. 

At the moment, the company has 20+ slot games playable on any device, available in 20 languages, and supporting 180+ currencies, crypto included. 

The games range from classic slots to crash games. However, Wicked also produces live games covering everything from Baccarat, Roulette, and games “tailored for the tastes of Asia and India,” as well as lotteries and sports jackpots. 

Game Developers Love April Fools’ Pranks

Wicked Games is certainly not the only studio to think of pulling a game release prank on April 1. In fact, these types of gags have been going on since forever, ranging from plain dumb to simply annoying and occasionally frustrating.

At times, developers will put so much creativity into a fake game announcement that fans will actually end up wanting it to be real, serving as inspiration for game development.

This year, Level5 released a trailer for Life Crossing: Fantasy Horizons which ended up being a prank, to the utter disappointment of fans of the iconic Fantasy Life and Animal Crossing simulator games. 

In similar news, Venom was seen twerking in Marvel Rivals, and Delta Force Game announced they would exclusively recruit cat operators from now on.

“When it comes to catching mouse, human sucks, and only cat prevails. So I’ve decided that the prestigious G.T.I. only recruits cat operators from now on,” their announcement said. 

Konami announced it will sell a “Silent Hill 2-inspired” pillow for anyone seeking a “hauntingly comfortable tribute” with a hidden, glow-in-the-dark tribute. 

“You can actually pre-order it. But only for 7 days. After that, it vanishes into the fog forever,” the official site said.
